Kristen Neswick is a dedicated Professional School Counselor at Perry Creek Elementary in Sioux City, IA and has 4 years of school counseling experience. Before dedicating her time as a school counselor, Kristen interned/worked for a total of 4 years at the Human Services Center in Yankton, SD as a Counselor on the Adult Acute and Intensive Treatment unit. During her time there, she was a part of the treatment team, led groups, worked 1:1 with patients and was certified in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy. She completed her Undergraduate degree at Mount Marty College (University) in Yankton, SD and she then continued on to obtain her Graduate degree in School Counseling at the University of South Dakota. Kristen brings a wealth of knowledge regarding mental health and community wide resources and an ability to connect with others. She is very passionate about mental health advocacy and community engagement. She brings a collaborative spirit with a deep understanding of youth and family needs. Kristen is eager to contribute her experience and insight if selected to serve on the Heartland Counseling Board.
