Meet Our Team

Marti Peters has been a member of the Heartland team since 2014, serving initially as a Mental Health Practitioner and Substance Use Counselor. In January 2023, she was promoted to Clinical Supervisor, where she co-facilitated the Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) and provided individual and group therapy services. In 2026, Marti advanced to the role of Clinical Director of the Substance Use Division, providing leadership, oversight, and strategic direction for substance use services while continuing to support Heartland's mission of delivering high-quality, client-centered care.

Marti specializes in working with adults experiencing co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders, including process addictions such as gambling. As an approved Registered Service Provider with Nebraska Probation, she has extensive experience helping individuals involved in the justice system navigate recovery, build resilience, and achieve lasting positive change.

A Nebraska native, Marti graduated from Wayne State College and has dedicated her career to serving individuals and families throughout the region. Her commitment to clinical excellence, compassionate care, staff development, and evidence-based treatment has established her as a respected leader within both the organization and the behavioral health community.

Marti is married to her husband, Aaron, and remains actively involved in her local community. Outside of her professional responsibilities, she values spending quality time with her family. She is the proud mother of two children and grandmother to several grandchildren. In her free time, she enjoys camping, crocheting, and spending time with family and friends.
