Sarah Shanahan, MSW, LIMPH, LICSW, LMSW
Sarah started with Heartland Counseling Services in June 2019, working in the school-based program then transitioned to the outpatient clinic in June 2023. She received her Masters of Social Work from the University of Iowa in 2023. She works with individuals of all ages, and specializes in working with children, teens, and families. She utilizes a variety of approaches to engage clients such as play therapy, art, and other expressive approaches to help communicate in ways that feel natural to them. She’s trained as an adoption competent therapist, in Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT), and in the process of becoming a registered play therapist.
