Meet Our Team

Sonia Rodriguez, PLMHP, PCMSW, began her journey at Heartland Counseling Services as an intern in the fall of 2022 and became a school-based therapist in September 2023. She currently serves as an elementary school-based therapist in the South Sioux City School District. Sonia is a Sioux City native and earned her Bachelor of Social Work from Briar Cliff University and her Master of Social Work from University of Iowa. She is trained in Cognitive Behavioral Intervention for Trauma in Schools (CBITS) and Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), with a strong focus on supporting children who have experienced trauma. Sonia is bilingual in English and Spanish, allowing her to effectively serve and support diverse families in the community.

Sonia Rodríguez, PLMHP, PCMSW, comenzó su trayectoria en Heartland Counseling Services como aprendiz en el otoño de 2022 y se convirtió en terapeuta escolar en septiembre de 2023. Actualmente se desempeña como terapeuta de escuela primaria en el Distrito Escolar de South Sioux City. Sonia es nativa de Sioux City y obtuvo su Licenciatura en Trabajo Social en Briar Cliff University y su Maestría en Trabajo Social en la University of Iowa.
